Barnard Castle

Coach access and parking: Designated parking within main car park (fee payable). Designated coach parking to rear of building at Bowes Museum. Drop-off point outside Tourist Information Centre at ‘Scar Top’ adjacent to Castle and Post Office.

Coach access and parking: Turning area at top of village just beyond the end of the main street on a sharp right hand turn (do not cross over the bridge which carries the road over the A66). Roadside parking in village.

Coach access and parking: Turning and parking in entrance to car park for Visitor Centre (but no parking in car park itself).

Alternative lay-by parking at Newbiggin B6277.

Cockfield

Coach access and parking: Roadside parking adjacent to village green and car park suitable for mini coaches on C-road from Cockfield to Staindrop for access to Cockfield Fell, England’s largest scheduled ancient monument.

Coach access and parking: Turning and parking at reservoir, accessed via unclassified road off B6277.
