Details: Like all Mummers' plays The Castle Player's version follows a centuries old English tale of death and resurrection, with a plot that is very patriotic and very short. The evil Turkish Knight challenges King George to a duel, during the course of which King George overwhelms, then slays the dastardly foreign challenger. After the event King George is mortified when he realises that he has killed his own long lost brother. There then enters, most fortuitously, a Doctor who, with much mumbo-jumbery and quackery, brings the corpse back to life, which results in much rejoicing and merry making. Details: An opportunity for young adults (aged 20-30 years) to draw, paint and cut out tissue paper birds to glue onto an eco-friendly biodegradable sky lantern for release at the launch of the museumaker project, A Garden of Lantern Birds, launched the following day. Assistance will be provided with the lighting and launching of the sky lanterns, with those taking part encouraged to make a wish as their lanterns are released.
